A dump truck has been purchased to haul the clay based dirt and then the completed interlocking building blocks to the building site of the new school and church.
The biggest industry in the country is the mining industry. They have come to our aid on several occasions because they say we are good neighbors. That is God’s plan for every Christian.
On our most recent trip to Sierra Leone my good friend and Vice President of WEO Ministries, Dan Yanchak, traveled with me. Many things were on our agenda including getting to Makungi to lay the foundation of our new school and church. For the first year the church and school will use the same facility. Dan Yanchak is a mining engineer here in the United States and some of our works are in the mining district. The largest, Rutile and Boxite, are used in the production of priceless metals such as Titanium.
Because of Dan’s expertise in mining we made contact with the mining people, and then eventually the CEO of these companies. Dan talked with these top officials and explained our plan asked if they could assist us. They ask what we
needed and Dan told them we needed some heavy equipment to bring clay to make blocks for building and to clear the land. They then
responded they would be glad to assist with what we are doing. They said they like what we are doing because their workers didn’t come to work drunk and their families are staying together as family units.
